Not Your Average Mac & Cheese

So, mac & cheese happens to be one of my favorite dishes in the world! Not only do I love this dish, but my entire family loves mac & cheese. Macaroni and cheese is such a versatile dish that can be prepared in a million different ways. Because all of my children are home with me, these convenient meals come in handy. Ingredients:

For Mac & Cheese

Serves 7-8 people

  1. Elbow macaroni – (16 oz.)
  2. Salted butter – (2 TBSP)
  3. Whole milk (or your preference) – (1.5 cups)
  4. Shredded mozzarella cheese – (16oz.)
  5. Shredded sharp cheddar cheese – (8oz.)
  6. Sliced Swiss cheese – (2-3 slices)
  7. Garlic and herb seasoning – (To taste)
  8. Frozen broccoli – (1 small bag)
  9. Smoked- ground paprika – (To taste)

Directions:

  1. Fill a medium sauce pot with water; Bring water to a boil.
  2. Add macaroni; cook for 6-10 minutes.
  3. Drain macaroni; add pasta back to the sauce pot to finish.
  4. Add butter, milk and cheese to sauce pot. Stir consistently until cheese begins to melt.
  5. Once cheese has melted, add broccoli; Cook for 5-6 minutes on medium- low heat.
  6. Once broccoli has cooked, add both seasonings, until desired taste. Enjoy!

For shrimp:

Ingredients:

  1. Raw, cleaned shrimp – (2 cups) * peeled*
  2. Salted butter – (2 TBSP)
  3. Old bay seasoning – (To taste)
  4. Garlic and herb seasoning – (To taste)

Directions:

  1. Heat a small sauce pot on medium- low heat; Add butter.
  2. Once butter melts, add raw shrimp; Cook for 5 minutes.
  3. Lightly sprinkle with both seasonings. Add to your mac & cheese. Enjoy!
